The goal of this project is to create technical supporting systems, information possibilities and a range of services for people with decreased mobility (e.g. people who are handicapped, sick, blind etc). Thus, the mobility of these people should be increased significantly. Application examples are custom navigation systems (e.g. parking areas for handicapped people, specially equipped busses and trains) but also information transfer from the user's home (e.g. alert messages). ASK-IT is sponsored by the European Union (IST-2003-511298). About 45 partners from 15 countries are involved in this project, e.g. Alcatel, HaCon, Lucent Technologies Europe, Nokia, PTV and Siemens. DOMOLOGIC is at most responsible for the control of household machines (Domotik). The figure underneith shows the communication platform ASK-IT is based on.
